Segni

The itinerant educational project Segni is hosted in Rome until March 2022: the exhibition intends to focus on everything that can be traced back to episodes of violence on women, and photography acts as a visual witness of clues and symbols.
The goal is to raise awareness among the younger generations (the project travels through schools and institutes all over Italy) about a subject that is widely dealt with, but still too widespread and underestimated.
2 are the authors (Simona Ghizzoni and Ilaria Magliocchetti Lombi) and 42 are the shots to be set up; the artists have transformed into a visual narrative the traumatic experiences of some victims. Among the shots emerge symbols, clues to be seized promptly to prevent and witness the tragic episodes.
Photography, universal and immediate language, acts as a narrative support to a drama that has no colors or religions, and invites the viewer to slow down, observe, and reflect on the signals that an image sends to those who observe it.
