William Wegman | Being human

Lugano dedicated an exhibition to the American artist and his irresistibles muses: the elegant Weimaraner dogs, protagonists of his shots from the Seventies. The dogs, humanised, allude to  fashion, artistic movements, characters and represent, with excellent quality, a gallery of human stereotypes: from dandy to models, from astronaut to priest.

After the first puppy, called Man Ray, several generations of Weimaraner belonging to Wegman being protagonist of his shots: real actors, captured with the focus of his big Polaroids, unique and unretouched photographic prints.The exhibition includes a selection of about 90 Polaroids.
