PIERO GEMELLI, La bellezza svelata. Fotografie e storie immaginate

PAN in Naples, in collaboration with the Assessorato all’Istruzione, alla Cultura e al Turismo del Comune di Napoli, hosts for the first time the works of one of the most established artists of the contemporary Italian scene: Piero Gemelli.

Between photography, painting and sculpture, Gemelli escapes from any kind of cataloging and categorization, taking the viewer inside a path aimed at the discovery of the so-called “beautiful moment” that characterizes the philosophy behind his visual research.

It is in fact the intrinsic beauty of things, moments and objects, that is brought to light by the artist’s activity; time slows down and the harmony of shapes emerges from Gemelli’s work, that reviews and decontextualizes nude and the body shapes, giving them new identities and attitudes.

Together with the exhibition is also presented the volume Piero Gemelli. Fotografie e storie immaginate, recently published by Editori Paparo, which collects essays and testimonies by Riccardo Falcinelli, Carrie Scott, Emanuele Coccia, Emiliano Ponzi, and many other historians and professionals of the field.
