Guido Guidi – Lunario

“A thirty-year long photographic journey on the theme of the Moon, with its load of philosophical, literary and mythological meanings”. The series of images composing the book Lunario 1968-1999 (Mack, 2019) is now on display at the Ospitale in Rubiera (RE), in an exhibition which also shows unpublished materials and curated by Linea di Confine.

Illusions, echoes and metaphors about the moon or crescent moon reappear in a face, in shapes or shadows, in landscapes shot with a fish-eye lens, until the partial eclipse of the moon in August 1999. The approach is experimental, Guidi records a series of lunar apparitions, investigating the technological aspects of the photographic medium to explore optical, physical and natural phenomena.
