Andy Warhol ǀ Polaroid Pictures

In the Polaroid realized by Andy Warhol, shown at Bastian Gallery of London, relive the New York of the ’70 and ’80. A season wrapped in the myth, excessive and unrestrained, the cradle of innovative trends and a new culture of image. In the over 60 shots, some of which are exhibited for the first time, Warhol, author and spectator, depict himself and the most famous icons of the time.
Actors, politicians friends, celebrities and artists that who animated the experimental scene and the nights of New York: Jean Michel Basquiat, Joseph Beuys, John Lennon, Jane Fonda, Paloma Picasso, Yves Saint-Laurent, Liza Minnelli. The father of Pop Art explore the possibility of the Polaroid, giving us back the contours of an era through a series of snapshots that are at the same time an intimate diary and the chronicle of a society.
