An irresistible mix of cinematic, drawing inspiration from surroundings, personal experiences, street photography, pop culture and film: is the seductive and enigmatic style of the photographer and director Alex Prager, for the first time on display in Italy with the works – photographs and videos – curated by Nathalie Herschdorfer, director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle.
The photographs, great prints in saturated colors, with elaborate settings and attention to the smallest details, seem frozen “frames”, but they are the result of a long work, as well as the hypnotic and engaging short films. Protagonists of her shots are the crowds, be they swimmers on the beach or viewers of a cinema and, above all, women, figures suspended in space and time, surrounded by an aura of emotion and mystery (of Hitchcock’s memory).
