SI FEST. The eldest photography festival in Italy

The festival has just turned thirty. Numerous artists, authors, photographers and scholars have passed through Savignano in these thirty years. “FUTURA. Tomorrow of photography”: with this title, the artistic director Denis Curti wanted to celebrate the important anniversary with a reflection on the present, starting from the past and in an attempt to give a physiognomy to the future of photography.

Festival of Ethical Photography and the best of international photojournalism

Can photography be a witness and vehicle for information but also for a change of perspective? As every year, the Festival in Lodi focuses on telling stories of our time without limitations and free from a sugar-coated narrative that often pervades the culture of contemporary images. Offering a broader vision in the international context, allowing us to look at lives which are completely different from ours.

Photography at the ICCD between history and contemporaneity

The Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD) was founded in 1975 when all the production of two historical institutes flew into it: the National Photographic Cabinet (GFN), founded in 1895 by Giovanni Gargiolli, and the National Aerial Photo Library, founded in 1958. In recent years, the Institute’s interest has also turned to contemporary photography with the acquisition of archival copies of authorial photographic projects.

The treasures and knowledge of the CSAC of Parma

Photolux Magazine’s journey through Italian photographic archives starts from the Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione in Parma, one of the first public institutions to deal competently with photography and today an efficient multifunctional space dedicated to culture and communication. It all began in the 1960s, thanks to Carlo Arturo Quintavalle and a trip to the United States.
