Elliott Erwitt | Family

A family album, or rather of the many possible families, according to the great American photographer. Erwitt, born in 1928, has selected from his vast production 60 images that revolve around the theme “family” and its possible interpretations, creating a collection of many facets: powerful and light shots, historical or daily, serious or ironic, public or private.

The selection for the exhibition, made together with the curator Biba Giacchetti, includes funny moments and social sections, nudist weddings, extended or singular families, ordinary and famous people (Jackie at the funeral of JFK). There are also private photographs of the Erwitt family, including the famous shot of the newborn daughter on the bed with her mother and cat.
