Martin Parr | Only Human

People are awesome, especially if they are captured from the lens of Martin Parr. The exhibition  in London included recognisable photographs alongside works never before exhibited. The National Portrait Gallery, venue of the exhibition, is an institution born to be the mirror of british society trough the portraits of his most eminent personalities. Parr is not a portraitist in the conventional sense, he is a social observer and a documentary filmmaker, that often crosses into portrait, even if in a completely unusual way.The exhibition focuses on people and offers portraits of famous people and ordinary people from all over the world; particular attention is dedicated to the British society, the favorite object of Parr’s irony, told through projects that explore its current mood and identity, in a delicate and uncertain historical period, following the Britain referendum for the exit from the European Union.
