CLOSER – Dentro il Reportage

After the setback due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the documentary photography festival promoted by the social promotion association Witness Journal in Bologna is back.

Due to the ongoing sanitarian emergency, this year’s edition will host works and events from both 2020 (which could not see the light of day in their time) and 2021. Exhibitions, workshops, and portfolio readings will showcase the projects and artistic endeavors of some of the most influential photographers and photojournalists in the current reportage scene. Climate change and the consequent environmental crisis, LGBTQ+ community, women’s role between cultures and society, pandemic and addictions, are just some of the topics dear to current affairs treated within the festival organized by Witness Journal, QR Photogalley and Arci Bologna.

Finally, in the new space “Closer Plus”, in collaboration with the Fondazione per l’Innovazione Urbanauna, it will be possible to visit two exhibitions about Bologna, with the works of Margherita Caprilli and Giulio Di Meo, which tell about the resilience of the inhabitants of Bologna during the first, very hard period of the pandemic.
