Effetto Araki

Tribute to the great Japanese photographer with a selection of 2200 pictures spanning a career of more than 50 years. reviewing his long artistic career and offering a virtually complete overview of his endless, highly complex and multi-faceted output, which stretches well beyond the bondage pictures that have made him a household name worldwide. Many of the series are being shown in Italy for the very first time. Among the other: Satchin and his brother Mabo (two young neighbors of Araki, ’60), Subway of Love (Photographs taken in Tokyo Subway,’70), Sentimental night in Kyoto; Tokyo Summer Story e Tokyo Autumn (bright the first one, melancholy and intimate the second). 

Sentimental Journey ( diary of the honeymoon with his wife Yoko) Anniversary of Hokusai’s Death (in honor of the great Japanese painter and engraver) and Gloves; l’Amant d’Août, dedicated to the model Komari; the photographs realized in occasion of the 60th anniversary of the end of the war from , The 60th year after the End of the War, and twenty diptych of Tokyo Nude, symbolic architecture of the Japanese capital.
